I have my ls2 in the frame for a 67 Chevelle . The gto exhaust wont fot they hit everything. the ac and alt for the gto hit the frame . I probally will have to use the GM sserpentone setup that mones the alt and ac to the top. can i use corvette or ls2 crate motor exhaust manifolds. i am waiting on a catalogue from Street & perf. any heelp will be appreciated. I need a camaro oil pan to have modified or a truck oil pan. what are the part # . I measured from back of eng. to the 3 bolt mounts and with new brackets the moumts are 1 1/2 inches shorter making the mounts closer to rear of engine than stock 327 position. is the Ls2 block shorter. dont see that it makes any difference if the oil pan and exhaust doesnt hit anything........ thanks ,chevelle

I recently did this in a 69 chevelle. I think they frames are close but have not really studied both. One place that really helped me out was turn key engine supply, From them I got the Oil pan, long tube headers, motor mounts, and the front accessories. I originally ordered the oil pan from street and performance ended up sending it back because they did not tell me I needed to get a new splash guard (it did not come with the 600 dollar oil pan :( ). Now the one I got from turn key came with the splash guard, a dip stick, and all the bolts. Not that the bolts were needed but still got them. As for the exhaust, also ordered some long tube headers from turn key, they are made by hooker headers, also the motor mounts from them.
When it comes to the oil pan they cut a section out and weld in a new piece of aluminum.
And the ls2 corvette exhaust do not work.
My thread on ls2 with some pictures. (http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=530309&highlight=ls2+in+chevelle) <------ The thread does not want to work for me do a search for ls2 chevelle and that should come up with it.

where do your motor mount plates bolt on the engine does the lower mount hole go straight thru the plate and into the ls2 using a metric bolt. is that the supposed stock location.

Have you taken the stock ls2 motor mount off? the plates go in place of those, then you use the older style motor mount and attach it to that plate. The ones I have moved the engine back about and inch to and inch and a half.

You might want to look at 98 Corvettte or 99 Camaro exhaust manifolds. Both are made of mild steel and can be welded. I think all other years of LSx manifolds are cast iron. You should be able to pick up a set on Ebay for $50-$75.

I just installed an LS2 in my 67 and everything fit fine so far. It is out of a GTO and all accessories clear, however I made a set of mounts for mine which are basicly the same as BRP mounts only a lot cheaper for me to do myself. I have a rack and pinion in the car and did not have to modify anything on the frame. The only mod wasthat I tapped the trans tunnel about a 1/4 inch was where the trans controller is mounted on the trans. The only concern I have is that there is only 7 inches between the front of the water pump snout and the core support. I used an LH8 oil pan which I purchased from BRP. The pan is nice and a hell of a lot cheaper than sending an Fbody pan out to have it modified. The pan complete with pickup and windage tray was $249 from BRP, just be prepared to wait for it as they are on back order. Hope this helps you out.
