Possible G8 / GXP specs ?

times posted where 0-60 in 4.5 sec and wheel spinning mid 12's quarter mile at 118mph on the factory 275 rubber

That's not really the point. GM tends to use the Flagship as the performance cap for its other vehicles.

of course. but this car wont perform anywhere near what a vette will with similar or even more power. plus they'll be other vettes to choose from with even more power. not that vette buyers would go anywhere near a pontiac dealer anyway. :D

My father owns 3 corvettes currently. Autoweek's latest issue has a very nice complimentary write up on the G8 and he read it and he is going to go drive one once they hit the dealers.

id own both too if i could but im not so sure most potenial buyers would look at both cars.i can see a g8 buyer looking at BMWs while a vette buyer looking at vipers.

You missed the point, you said the engine they put in the GXP should have between 425-450 and I said the engine in the corvette puts out 430. Think about it.

yes. i thought about it. the article i have said a GXP could have an ls3 at 425 hp and a less likely ls9 i think at 450.

I don't think the LS9 will be able to make 450...it has a 550hp minimum :D.

actually the article said an LSA motor which said about the power you mentioned. :cool: no, that probably wont make it into a G8. more likely an ls3. are vettes getting another power bump for 09?

doubtful for the power boost since they just got one

the base G8 has 260ish hp
g8 gt = 360ish
g8 GXP = 430 would be right on target for tiers

I doubt they would have a g8 ultimate @ 550+, it just isn't a car that could demand that sort of premium since the price would put it well into Cadillac territory.

The GXP model, if properly equipped, might just bring me back to Pontiac. If poorly equipped then I would have to look towards the SRT8 line-up.

Aussie version always looks better then the American version. We always get the watered down crap. Oh well, it's still a decent car...
