are the last of the breed kits just for '02's, or are they for every firebird 98-up?? Just wondering. Thanks

There have been many discussions about this. People say its best to put them only on the 02s but if you like it go for it, its up to you, its your car.

The last of the breed kits were just plastic emblems that some company made and a bunch of dealers got together and stuck them on some 02s trying to make their owners believe they got something special, when in reality, they got a regular 02 car with some aftermarket plastic emblems.

Some people get really bent out of shape about these emblems, but theyre just that, emblems. If you like them, then great, but they're not "meant" to go on any particular car or year, so put them on whatever you want! :D

P.S. You'll get more responses to your thread if your thread titles have something to do with the topic. "Maybe a dumb ?" is not a good thread title.

thanks for the suggestion Constrictor

I would just put them on 02s only. But that's just me. :)

I was thinking that since 98-02 were the last generation of f-bods that it would apply to all. Not just the 02's. cuz all birds a just

I didn't buy my LOB kit at the dealer.. I bought it after I bought my car. I don't think it makes my car any more special then a 2001.. Except I am recognizing the fact that it is the last year that the Trans Am was built.

If I had a 2001 I definately would not have bought the LOB kit. For that matter if 2002 wasn't the last year of the F-Body I probably wouldn't have bought my WS6.. I bought it in 2002 because it was the last year of the F-Body.. Hence, to me, the LOB is something special for my last year bird.

If my ws6 wasn't a 2002 I wouldn't have bought this either:

But I wouldn't think it's wrong if someone put it on their non 02 bird.. Hell, it's your car, do what you like. I'm not making your payments.

Where does that plate go, and where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?

You can't now, but on further threads it does help for people to know what you really want to ask. Many only read a thread if it is something they think pertains to them or someone needs help.

That is a cylinder head plate. It goes on the side of the passenger side cylinder head...facing forward. Those of you who have 98-00 cars with the EGR system still in tact wouldnt want this plate because it goes where the EGR system mounts. The 01-02 cars just had a blank spot there, so some company started making a plate that goes there.

If you want it, get it. You can just say the LS1 TA's are what it stands for. I don't see why anyone would care if someone else put that on their car.

I bought an lob kit, but will never put the emblems on the fenders.
They just sit in the file cabinet wit a bunch of other Firebird stuff. Sounds kinda dumb:bunny:
If you want to put them on your car do it, it's no big deal.

Don't listen to any of us, because plain and simple its your car, you decide what you want on it.

With the full original LOB package I think it's pretty clear, but many people just base their opinions on the badge itself. 2002 was the intended year model for the designation, but it's your car do what ya want. :)

I don't think I'll do it. the only badge I want to put on is the front nose pontiac from a 69 bird from year one. It's silver, so I think it would look a lot beter. just better not get cut any slack from the die hard 1st gen boys and girls

Very True....

The kit contains a print that can be framed....It clearly states 2002 and has a place for you to type your Firebird VIN number....

The badge itself reads 1967-2002....

Now for the question of what year(s) to install the badge on....

It is meant to be for a 2002 per the paper work....

A Firebird can not be the " Last " unless it is a 2002....

Can you install the badge on a 1967-2001 Bird....Yes, it is your car....

Would I personally do it....No....

Either way " ENJOY YOUR " Firebird....:D
