i've been doing some looking at parts for a 4 link rear suspension...i've come up with this short list or parts that i like, they are mostly a little higher priced, but they're high quality also..

SHOCKS:

QA1 pro coil-over kit: makes converting your stock suspension to a coil-over suspension quick and painless. contains a pair of Aluma Matic coil-over shocks, two variable rate coil-over springs, upper shock crossmember, upper shock mounting tabs, lower adjustable shock mounts and all nessecary mounting hardware.

HAL-ALN4000K FOR CARS 4,000#and up. $434.95

Next: i can't decide if i want a 4 link or a ladder bar setup, so i picked one of each.

4-Link:

Competition Engineering Magnum 4-link system. Designed specifically to handle the intense power or a Pro-Mod vehicle (so just maybe it will stand a truck) Magnum Series 4-link includes; a beefy 1.25" od. x .095" top tube, a 1.33"od. x .095" bottom tube, and a 1/4" thick housing. intergral wheelie bar mounts (for us crazyasses) and all necessary mounting hardware except rod ends.

CEE-2028 $279.95
rod ends are about $50 each from them but could be found much cheaper elsewhere.

Ladder Bar:

Competiton Engineering Competition Ladder Bar system. fully adjustable. Quick bind free pre-load adjustments. powdercoated black 1" thick steel tubing, the weldon ladder bar has forged solid rear rod ends and spherical front rod ends and measures 33" long.

CEE-2006 $263.88

ladder bar cross member....54" wide, 1.75" x .120" steel tube mount with extra mounting holes so you can adjust the front height of your ladder bars and control your launches.

CEE-2019 $54.88

Safety:

Driveshaft safety loop:

Summit Driveshaft Loop, 1/4" x 2" heavy gauge black steel and fully adjustable harness. meets NHRA/IHRA requirements for running slicks.

SUM-G7900 $24.50

ROLL PREVENTION:

panhard sway bar by competition engineering, ideal for link suspensions aswell as ladder bars, this 30" universal pahnard sway bar kit is designed to eliminate the side to side movement of the rear axle housing.

CEE- 2037 $75.88

WHEELS:

US WHEELS Series 90 15x7 front $30.95
US WHEELS Series 90 15x10 rear $42.95

TIRES:

Mickey Thompson Et Drag 28x11.5x15 MTT-3057 $193.95 ea
Yokohama AVS ES100 215x60x15 YOK-10058 $95.88 ea

i think that's it...that's stuff just from Summit, and i havn't added it up yet. but that looks like it would be all you'd need to do it...then throw some lowering springs and some QA1s up front and you're there.

I have been thinking of a 4-link setup for a while. Still doing some research on it though. There are a few other things I want to do first. Suprisingly enoungh, my Hotchkis setup launches pretty good on the ET Streets but I can forget it on my 404s.

i've heard the hotchkis launches pretty well from a couple people....i talked to a guy that builds vw bettle drag cars a while back about building a 4 link with coil overs and the works...with a 2/4 lowering overall and he said with parts and labor it would run about 1500 and take about 2 weeks to do.

all the parts listed above if ordered from summit would equal $1597.62 for the 4 link setup, and $1581.55 for the Ladder bar (3 link) setup. that's more than the quote i got, but my quote didn't include wheels (4) tires (4) DS-SL, or the pahnard sway bar. not a bad price if you ask me....especially when you think you could probably find those parts from a sponsor of this site or ls1tech for cheaper...and if you were to order that much from a company surely they would give a little discount. looks like i know my next project after the engine build.
