My 78 T/A currently has the shitty 2:56 drum brake rear end. I dont want that under the car when I start driving it.
I have a 3:08 disc brake rear end out of the 81 T/A Im parting out.
I also have a 3:42 drum brake rear end out of an 80 Z28 I parted out also.
Gas mileage is not an issue since this 78 will only be a weekend cruise time driver. Not a daily at all and will be trailered to shows out of town.
Im thinking about taking the Disc brakes off the 3:08 rear end and putting them on the 3:42 rear end and putting it under the 78.
What do yall think about this plan?
I can do all this for free and it wont cost me anything. I cant afford to buy new gears.

Yeah im gonna keep it somewhat stock but want it faster than stock.
Im gonna have 3 sets of wheels for her.
The Rally II's that came on her with there original tires for the major Pontiac shows.
The 8" Snowflakes for around town driving.
Also gonna get me a set of Gunmetal spoked TTII's for around town driving and small time shows.

i have 373's in mine, with the 3-speed auto, and at 60 miles per hour, my little 301 is revvin around 3000rpm. not the greatest for the highwaydriving, but the gears made it fun for blasting around town.

You need any brackets or parts for your 301 cause Im gonna throw the 301 out of the 81 T/A away

Because of not having an intercooler and non water-cooled bearings in the Garret turbothe 301 didnt have a healthy life span.Thats why their are not to many around today.:( I was a good little motor but.....................
