I finally got around to installing my Pro 5.0 this weekend, and i gotta say, i love it. Its the best feeling shifter ive ever dealt with.
The install took me around 2 hrs, and i only ran into one problem. After i test drove it to make sure everything was right, i tightened everything down, including the stop bolts. Well one of the bolts(the lower one) had moved on me, and i had to do it all over again to move that bolt back.
Other than that it wasnt hard to do, and definately worth it.

Solution: Don't use stop bolts, didn't use them on two different cars and haven't had a problem yet. :)

After installing the pro 5.0 it looks like the shifter is...umm...shifted to the right quite a bit.
When it's in 1st gear the stick is in the middle of the shifter opening. It just barely clears the console when i put it in reverse.
Is this normal?
Anywho....no complaints or raves about it so far.(didn't drive it yet, too many other little mods going in yet)

I sized it up both ways. THe bolt holes would only line up one way. I don't think there's anyway to install it backwards.
Know what? The stick doesn't always return to center for me either. I DID cut the rubber boot thing too. It's not really bad or anything though.

i VERY highly doubt it. The left side of the shifter and the right side of the stick are flat. So you would have one hell of a time mixing that up.

I have the same problem of the shifter being far too the right. I thought that was just how the shifter was suppose to be. However Allen at Futral Motorsports asked me why it was so far to the right. So something must be up. It will only install one way and I have the LSS, maybe that is on the wrong side, I don't know.

The shifter being over to the right is very normal... mine barely clears the console when going into reverse as well. I like mine a lot but still getting used to it. I'm pretty sure they make one for the C5... it might even be the same as us Fbodys since I'm pretty sure we share the same tranny....

I'll have to look at my Pro5.0 when I get out of work. I'll try to take some pictures and post them up. I don't see why some are having problems and some aren't. Mine seems to sit fine, but I'm also using the stick that came with the Pro5.0, not the LSS...

I've had my shifter in for about one year and the only complaint with the Pro 5.0 is the noise. When I run the car up high RPM's the shifter is a lot louder than the stock one, and at highway speeds makes more noise than I really car for.
