View Full Version : old F-bodies cracking under pressure?

I've gotton three calls in the last few weeks about some, first and second gen f-bodies,(69ss, 78,79 T/A's) cracking at the tops of the A-pillars ( sucks when your car dosen't have a frame dosen't it) so now i have to put bars in two a jungle gym in the other one. This sucks i hate just putting in bars.

I never had a problem with my A posts on my second gens but my B posts (the upper right corner of the door) have stress cracks.Thats from 5000+ rpm shifts and I consider them badges. :D Shit my 75 would tear up transmissions every year,one time the torque from the Ram Air III stripped the bolts holding the trans to the crossmember.:)

Mine were happining on the street not on the track,so I really dont know what she will run.But low 13s is possible,with traction maybe high 12s?

these guys beat the hell out of there stuff , both t/a's just had tranny brakes put in this year:rolleyes:

My 70 hasnt been to the racetrack yet but maybe one I get her finished I will.:)
