I'm curious as to who has the highest mileage on their original LT1 engine?

I'm nowhere near the record, at about 98,500 mi right now. But my engine still runs as good as new, if not stronger.

Anyone over 200k on here?

That is so amazing that you're still on the original fuel pump! I hope mine goes that long too. I figure that my yearly fuel filter changes help in this regard. In fact I'm getting my fuel filter changed tomorrow (along with the trans fluid, which I also do yearly)

Why be angry, these things last forever, and they don't seem to lose performance. My LT1 ran a 13.74 quarter mile in bone stock trim when I had around 90k on it, so it certainly wasn't down on power.

More miles equals more smiles!

I ran 13.54 with 125k and have since done my exhaust and suspension work. 130k and still running good, should be low 13's this spring.

156,xxx on my 95 Z-28 right now. Still runs strong.

My bro has 250,xxx + miles on his 95 T/A right now. It is a freak! He bought the car with 67,000 miles on it. Never replaced fuel pump, optispark, or water pump  :jawdrop: Had a short in the fuel injection wiring harness one time, spark plugs and wires (one time), brakes, tranny rebuilt twice, and tires is all he has done to it  :D He drives the shit out of it too!

250k, that's awesome! What type of oil/viscosity/filter does he use and how often does he change it?

02-25-2004, 04:25 PM
I'll get some pics of his odometer :D It's crazy!

You'll laugh at the filter choice too! He just uses the regular fram oil filter from wal-mart. :D He uses non-synthetic 5w-30. Uses name brands like valvoline or quakerstate. No generic brands, but just regular oil.

He changes it every 3000-4000 miles. He put 50,000 miles on it the first year he had it :D

I have 165,xxx miles on my stock bottom end original opti motor. Too bad I cant say the same for the tranny.:)

Truly amazing! I guess some people just get lucky and no matter what oil or filter they run, they get high mileage! He should buy a lottery ticket with his luck! :eyes:

124k on mine and it's slowly getting faster :D I haven't touched the motor at all. I've replaced the radiator, the trans, and added a rear out of a 98 SS 6M. I'm sure it needs some maintenance, so maybe this spring I'll get around to it :D

160k on the Impala SS and it is driven like it is stolen. :drive: Especially after the six speed swap. :D

My Z28 has a mere 57k on it and gets treated a little nicer.

I just bought it last october with 15500 miles on it, and it has been winter ever since. So just give me a few weeks, and I will be enjoying it just fine. :drive:

That makes more sense then. I thought you owned it since new and only drove it a tiny bit each year. I can't see how anyone can do that, these cars are too much fun to leave sitting around in the garage too long. :)
