We all know from the other threads that it works great, but I have a question.

Wax or no wax before hand? It's a show car polish, not a wax, so is it a good idea to wax before Zaino-ing or not?

Here's what I've got in mind to buy this spring:

Wash w/ dish soap to strip old wax off
Claybar
Wax (depending on the answer from the question above)
Z-1 (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-1)
Z-2 (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-2)
Z-6 (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-6)

And some Leather Cleaner (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-10) for the interior?

This a good way to start or not? Suggestions please...

No.

Do not wax BEFORE putting on the Zaino. You need to get the Zaino directly on your paint/clear coat.

I would:

Dawn Wash
Clay
Dawn Wash again to remove any Clay residue.

Then do your Zaino steps.

I'm a Zaino n00b. I've never had a car worthy of it until I got the Z28 this past fall.

It is some damn good stuff. Just remember to put it on thin, super thin.

Never ever use wax before-hand. The Zaino can't stick. You can also use ZFX instead of Z1. Make sure to wash really well with Dawn to ensure all wax is off (maybe even wash twice), then use Z7 the after the claybar for the second wash.

What they said...in order to get the shine Zaino users are accustomed to, it has to be the only thing between your eyes and the clear coat. Any other substance (wax) would be detrimental to the effects of Zaino.

you don't need to wax if you are using zaino. some people put a wax on top of zaino because they like the look.... but it is not needed. personally - i stick only with zaino. i do not mix and match waxes.....
