View Full Version : Cam specs on LS2?
FAST LS1

Last I heard these weren't out yet but almost all the other specs on the engine were.
Every aspect of the engine has the possibility to make more hp than the LS6 so if the cam specs are even close to those on the LS6 the LS2 will be making more than "400"hp.
Or they could have kept the camshaft profile more conservative to allow easy HP gains in future versions...

The changes in the motor will most likely just add more power under the curve and not necessarily the peak numbers;)
Even if they just used the same cam as the LS6 I don't think there would be much change in peak HP numbers...

If the cam is the same spec as the LS6 technically it would have to make more than 405hp. It's possible that the cam will be the same spec or close since it's going to be 6.0L instead of 5.7.
With a higher compression than the LS6, better intake track(90mm), better intake than the LS6, better or equal heads than the LS6, less shrouded valves due to the larger bore, better exhaust manifolds than the LS6, I don't see how it could possibly make anything but 405+hp.
It all centers around the cam specs though since it could be a very conservative grind.
If it is that conservative the grind would have to be close to what's in an LS1 with all the improvements the LS2 will have over the LS1. If it's that consverative, swapping a cam in will become one of the best mods for the LS2 since obviously the intake is very unresticted and the exhaust isn't bad.
