Whats the lowdown on these?
both big fucking cams and make great power.
232/240 .595/609 112/114 vs 242/248 .608/.612 110
what are your goals for the car, to me both are more geared for the strip and you'll need full bolt on, stout vavle train, and a good tune to get the best out of them.

i would say the g5x2 has been done and most are satisfied with it, the only knock on the t-rex is the piston clearance that is ever so tight and the fact that it is a new cam that hasnt been run by many yet:)

aggreed :).
keep in mind you dont need huge cams to go fast, its all about putting together the right setup :drive:
and are you m6 or a4.

you might hold off for a month or so and see what the feedback on the t-rex ends up too be! both will work equally well in an m6 and you should see close to the same #'s with either the t-rex might have more power but it is a bigger cam slightly:)

380 with that setup is very impressive, if it was my car you might just think about a good set of heads?;)

i've never seen any other cams put down as much usable power under the curve the FMS.

Futral Motorspors (FMS) has a car in Hot Rod this month. (Fastest M6 LS1 car).;)
I am going for 400 RWHP with the TSP 231/237 cam. (.598, .595) 112
On stock heads, lid, LTs, TB, pulley, and cutout. We shall see!!!

Like one of the other guys said, get some good dual springs for any one of these cams! I went with crane. I haven't heard much about the t-rex but i like my X-2.

What would be the benifit of having advanced ground in?

To give more low end torque. The average torque is higher through the entire rpm band with advance ground into the cam.

these cams are getting bigger and bigger and pushing the limits of piston to valve clearance. Plus who wants to make peak power at ovr 7,000 rpms? These are max effort /pretty much a drag race setup cam, not really for daily drivers, although some guys claim to drive em on the street. Anything that requires flycutting to make your you have valve clearance doesn't make me comfortable. Bigger sticks aren't always better, unless you're all about bragging that you have a big cam.
