Got a set of 18x9.5 Z06 wheels that Im saving money for tires right now. What are the best tires for $200 or less a piece? Also is it 275-35-18 that I need on a '01 Trans Am?

Don't limit the price like that or you will be stuck with a Falken or a Kumho :lame:

Gerry just get what I have in the back. 275/40ZR18 GoodYear Eagle F1 EMT GS's. They are only $339.99 each. :D

Most people tell me that I should have went with the Nitto 555's instead. When I run these Kuhmo's bald I might try the Nitto's.

the nittos are great i am running them right now! when my 18's get in i am going to try the yokohama avs es100's they are supposed to handle better but i will post some feedback once i get em on the car. You cant go wrong with the nitto's night and day different from the kumho's, i have ran both kumho and nitto:)

the kumho's are a good entry level tire but they dont preform as well as the nittos or yokohama's;)

I understand completely. I'd say pick between the Kuhmo 712 or the Yoko AVS.
Everyone always seems to bash on the Kuhmo, but for the money, well, they're good for the money in my experience.
Someone was telling me about Fisk Phantom also. Basically a rebadged BFG CompTA or TA tire. I think Lane's can get them for you if you want to check on that.

Thanks for the info. I think right now I will probably just go with the tires i posted that link to, unless someone posts up a really bad experience with them or something.

they are awesome, i went to a yokohama ride and drive about 6 months ago and they handle great! The kumho's dont even compare to the yokohamas the belt package you get with the yok is some much better plus you get a steel insert in the shoulder which makes those yok's handle like nobodys business, do the smart thing and get the yok's! thats what i am putting on my ride as soon as my wheels come in:drool:
