Equipment:

JBL 1200.1 amp
Qty 2 - Kicker solobarick L7 2ohm DVC

can anyone assist me with proper wiring for this configuration?

Maybe just explain settings w/ my diagram's letters...

Lemme try...

You want your amp in bridged mode (1200Wx1), and you want to hit a 1ohm load (which your amp *is* stable to).

Unfortunately you have 2ohm DVC which means we can only run at .5, 2,4 or 8 ohm with 2 subs. Your JBL amp will output roughly the same at 1ohm as at 2ohm, so you won't lose much if anything.

So let's tie the coils together... We'll run the coils in parallel to bring each sub to 1 ohm (since I don't know which terminal is which coil in your diagram)
connect I to K and L to J on #1 and P to N and M to O on #2.

Let's hook the subs together... We'll run in series so that total load is 2 ohms
connect L on #1 to M on #2.

Now with the amp set to bridged, wire from terminal A to I on #1 and from terminal D to P on #2.

Yes, you'll have two connections on several connectors on the subs.

Any comments from the peanut gallery?

im confused and in the same situation as you, i have 2 kicker comp vr12's 2 ohm dvc's, so i am going to be doing this the same as you. can anyone make a diagram to make this a little more easy to read? ohms totally confuse me. also, you said to connect the negative to the positive from the amp to the sub?

Here's the info I was given by the local guru ;)

I to L
K to E
J to F
E to B
F to A
M to P
N to H
O to G
G to D
H to C

by the way, the little rectangles by the subs are the blocks on the outside of the sub box that you connect the wires to ;)

This should help with the speaker wiring....

http://www.kicker.com/images/manuals/02SoloBaricL7manual.pdf

Basically putting the voice coils of one speaker in series making it a 4 ohm load, then putting both speakers in parallel, making an overall 2 ohm load.

coil 1 +......................- {wire to amp}
...........| {wire connecting 2 sides}
...........|
coil 2 -.......................+ {wire to amp}

If you do coils in series, make sure you don't short out the coils!! (The diagram above doesn't distinguish between the coils)
