Ive been contemplating this for a while. In az it gets really hot, and i hear its bad for an FI setup cause it will ping bad since we have 91 octane only. plus , i hear its gonna be like 15k by the time im done setting everything up.
So, i was thinking, why not set everything up for a 200 wet shot, at most, and just replace the fuel pump and get a wet kit?
Any one agree on spending 900 instead of 15 grand?

I don't see why you're wrong. Personally I'd rather buy a turbo setup, but it's unrealisitc at this point in my life. N2O will make great power, just make sure you're tuned for it.

i completely agree with you. honestly, if i wanted, i could go out and buy a c5r motor and turbo it if i wanted, i have the money, but im saving up for a house, so i dont wanna spend too much on my car.

Who is telling you its going to cost 15k to do a FI setup....actually let me throw out 2 names...either Extreme  OR Pro Dyno
Seriously, if you do a N20 shot that big, your gonna want a Direct Port kit. And without some strong internals, your running on borrowed time with that big of shot on stock internals.
Btw, when you say FI...are you talking supercharger, or turbocharger??

when i say FI, i mean either or....
i havent talked to charles about it, and i hear theres something big going on at extreme so i should stay away from them. Actually mike o connor told me it would be 15k for a good running system.
as far as a big shot, i hear i could go up to a 200 shot without any problems, but not on an every day thing, just once ina while.

FI, bottles are a PITA. There are many people running FI in warm climates and living to tell about it. It takes proper setup and tuning.
My twins are happy and content here in Florida but we do have 93 octane available.

Either one will be fine with a proper tune. It's all upon you on how much you want to spend at this time.

honestly, id rather go with a turbo setup over anything, but i figured it would be like 4 grand if i can put a kit together, and maybe another grand for fuel stuff. but people keep telling me to get it to work right its gonna be like 15 grand

If I had it to do over again I prolly wouldn't have gone N20. The wow factor is cool and all, but the wet shot you need to heat up before u can use, so it's either keep it open and heated at all times, or wait 5 minutes before u can use it (not good when someone rolls up on u)
For the amount of $$ a 200 DP (intake) will cost u, a heads and cam package will give u 450rwhp. That's the route I wish I went (granted it was more $$ then my NX kit, but ur lookin at a DP install)

Think of N2O as discounted turbo in a bottle... ;)
I don't think i'll spend $5K on Nitrous refills in my whole life... It just makes sense.
I agree with you re: the FI + Heat + 91 Octane fuel = :thumbdn:.
My buddy has a '99 Tahoe that he's boosting 4lbs with. He's had detonation issues with that low boost because of our sorry gas and heat. :2guns:
I just add a couple gallons of the 101 octane available @ the Mobil @ 40th and Chandler Blvd. Cheap insurance is how I look at it.

Jeeze, man...
I just looked at your dyno #'s... What are your goals (besides grenading the tranny and rear end)?
I thought you had a semi stock setup. :sillyme:
The need for speed never ends I guess.

If for no other reason, i'd go FI simply because nitrous cars are a dime a dozen. Obviously i'm a bit biased on this subject, but i wouldn't even think about going with the spray. :D
