I'm thinking about puting myself on the list for a C6. Just wondering how everyone feels about an A4. I'm assuming the A4 is similar to the C5 A4. No special stuff like Tiptronic stuff etc.

I'm getting pretty tired of my M6. Traffic etc. blah..blah.blah..

Thanks. :)

You really have to answer that question for yourself. I thought I could make the change from my M6 2000 Z-28 to the A4 2002 Firehawk. I was miserable!! I missed shifting. I'm glad I was miserable though because if the car would have really made me happy I never would have bought the Z06.

So many people will argue this point but what really matters is what do you think you would like to be driving a year from now?

If I was lucky enough to get a C6, it would be an A4, with the optional 3.15 gears.

It would not surprise me if a completely stock C6 with the A4 and 3.15 gears was able to run a 12.2 quarter mile. And you'd never miss a shift! :)

Thanks for the posts. I've been talking to Rick Daniel from the Z06vette forums. I will most likely get a M6. But who knows, I may change my mind.

I drove a a4 C5 and it was so boring. All Corvettes should be a stick, in my opinion at least. :) :drive:

Back in 1990 I wanted the 5 speed Firebird Formula in the worst way. I was much younger then of course and my impulse to have a Formula NOW led me to sign on the dotted line for an in stock A4 305TPI Formula. I was miserable, not only did I NOT have the 5-speed I should have held out for, but I had the crappy 2.73 gears. I was so miserable I eventually traded the Formula for a new 98 Subaru Forester 5-speed! Believe it or not, except for the lack of  with the Forester, I actually had more fun with it than the A4 Formula. The Forester convinced me I definitely prefer to row my own gears, sooo I bought my current ride in 2000 (see sig) and I will never go back to auto.

I think it's all how you like to drive your car :) If you love rowing gears get the stick if not get the auto.

If your going to drag race this car until the sun goes down and then some... think about the a4 .. I only say this because I know many vette guys (some of our own customers) who were stick and made the switch to an a4 for the love of drag racing! :)

I'm a fan of 6 speeds in any sports car but it is a personal decision you need to make. Either way, you'll still be in a C6. :D
