I would not get a PT4000 with a 2.73 in back. If you are worried about getting something too loose you should probably find someone in your area with a higher stall to see how it reacts. That way there are no surprises after you put it in. I ran a Vig 2800 in my 99Z for 3 years and never regretted it. It was a great street converter that provided plenty of punch off the line, took away the 2nd gear dead spot and was barely looser than the stock unit.

PT4000 with 2.73's...................loose as a goose. I had a Yank TT3000/3.0/2.73 and it was looser than my MW3600/2.0/3.42:) A 35000 stall on a 2.73 would be quite loose and as far as I would go on 2.73's.

If you get the 3.42's like you said in a previous post you should get a PT4000 if you want something that is THE BEST! Or you can choose a MW 4000 2.2-2.5. The MW is alot cheaper than the Yank. Currently I have a 3500 MW 2.0 w/3.42's and it drives damn near like stock.

my ssf 3500 just cut over 6 tenths off my 1/4 time and added 5mph in the 1/8 so id say go to the tci 3500 cuz with those gears youll want a decent str...even the 3800 would be a very good choice maybe even better than the 3500 but i dont know if you want a little more loosness...btw its my daily driver and i love it.

I have a Vig 2800 with my 2.73's.
It is not loose at all (well looser than stock but I like the feel MUCH better).
I gained .6 in the quarter with the converter alone, BIG help for the 2.73's. :2thumbs:
