I have finally decided to do it. I have a few questions.
I drive an 02 SS, and plan on purchasing the procharger when I move to Florida in July.

Does anyone have a list of things I will need besides the kit ?
I want a Procharger capable of pushing 8PSI and that is as much as I would like to go. Also, I want to replace the fuel injectors, are there any recommendations on which brand to use or avoid?

What is the recommended install method? do it yourself/ pro shop?

Any help would be appreciated.

Jon

About the fuel injectors... many people i know have had good results with Lucas injectors.

Good fuel injectors are also the SVO 42 lb. injectors! You will also need some sort of fuel pump. Some of the ATI kits have an inline pump that is supplied with them. It works good!:D

I would install it yourself if you have the ability, time and resources. The instructions are very clear and concise! Then get it tuned as soon as you get it on there and do not boost it if it is not tuned for it!

I've had BOTH SVO and Lucas 42# injectors. With the SVO, I had a miss at low load/slow speed conditions. i.e. Driving in my housing plat, in 2nd gear doing 15 to 20 MPH, I had lurches and was recording misses on my A-tap. I changed to Lucas and the miss went away. My power on the top was not affected or changed by using the Lucas.

Yeah I remember you telling me about that. That is wierd because mine only does that when it gets really cold here and I start the car and drive right away. If I let it warm up for a few minutes its fine! Other than that the SVO's have worked fine for me!:D

Heads & Cam, Heads & cam. remember? That setup demands more air/fuel at lower load conditions than my stock LS1 setup. My heads are stock and all internals are stock. I have stock flows at all times unless I am in boost. The SVOs were fine under ANY load or boost but they could not inject properly at less than 1ms of PW width.

I was going to use a walbro intank fuel pump.

Also any good tuners in the Ft. Walton Beach area?

When i install the new intank Fuel pump do i need to cut away from my cars body. Towards the rear of the car?

Somewhere i saw i needed too?

Depends, do you want to require a lift, drop the exhaust, the PHB, and fuel tank to get to the top of the fuel tank? That's what you have to do unless you have the access door. I didn't want to drop all of theat stuff so I had a door installed.

That's the method i'm going to use when my Walbro comes in later this week. Like Eboggs said, you don't need a lift and you don't need to mess around with anything else, AND (my favorite part) if you ever need to upgrade your fuel system any further (which i will in the coming years), you already have a door there for a quick and easy install.

have any good sources for these injectors? I have svo 42's and my car is almost done, just needs to hit the dyno for a good tune, and getting the same "miss" at idle. :help:

I have the SVO 42#ers and really like em. Drive stock and can handle the fuel. Walbro intank is another good one. Try and plan out the little stuff. Gauges, gauge pod, tuning... are you going to run stock fuel line and FPR? Are you going to get Edit or pay a tuner? These are just some of the considerations for the Blower.

Then you got to think about the car itself and the increased power. What about your drivetrain? If you have a 10 bolt gotta start saving up. Are you an M6? If so a clutch will be the first to go. If you're an Auto, especially an 01/02 be prepared for a rebuild. Try and keep this stuff in mind. not trying to scare you away. This stuff you'd have to think about with Heads/cam and N2O as well.

But once you get that first drive out of the garage you will understand why it's all worth it. :drive:

hehe I used to post on ls1.. still havent copied the sig over here..

Fuel system is walbro gss340 intank through stock lines to the svo's, already have the forged internals, stg 2 4l60e, mms crank pulley and 3.85 p1sc pulley. heads/cam are done with stg 2 6.0 heads, a 224/228 114 567/588 comp cam, 987 dual springs, yella terra 1.7's, hardened pushrods, double roller timing chain, ported oil pump, etc, its being tuned by a shop using ls1edit/efi live/autotap, its still on the 10 bolt with the girdle and stud kit, but i figure if i stick with street tires and 2.3x 60ft passes I should be ok for a little while :)

my main concern is I'm seeing the same thing as E with the misses at idle.. the shop it's at now is doing a crankshaft relearn to see if that fixes the problem.. hopefully it will.

I had all the same problems. I am running Lucas 42# injectors, Walbro 340 intank pump. I went to RPM in Lewisville Texas.... Chris Robinson tuned my car using both a GM Tech 2 and LS1 Edit. No problems at all! The car runs like a dream now..... 550 RWHP 477.f ft lbs trq. All this @ 18 degrees timing through TTS longtubes... cats... through Corsa exhaust.

The ATI D-1SC w/ fuel inectors, pump, and tuning is a nasty combination.

You won't believe what another 150 hp feels like, especially since it doesn't drop off much (almost nil) all the way to redline.

Good luck w/ your blower.

well, just fyi I think we have the problem fixed. Used a GM Tech2 and it's idling without misses :)

Thanks for all the replies. I am in Iraq now and not able to post too often. I got to a computer today. I was planning on keeping the drivetrain pretty much stock because I don't drive it that hard anyway. I was going to replace the drivetrain in a couple of years. That will give me time to save up for the 12 bolt and the custom driveshaft, and the tranny rebuild.

What kind of price are these good for?

I definently say go with the ATI. Get Lucus 42# inj., and if u don't min spending $$$ get the Walbro intake pump. And MOST DEFINENTLY get it Tuned before u get on it.

As for install. If u know how to work on a Car. Do it urself.
If u doubt urself in any way. Go to a shop.
