The only HOs that I know about are the old 5.0s in the late 80's and early 90's.
Have never heard of a factory HO on a LT1 or LS1 car..... :dunno:

The only time I've heard HO mentioned with a Trans Am is the hood from SLP. :dunno:

well i met a guy last night around town & his car was a freak. It had trans am high output badges....a different style ram air hood & it wasn't a ws6. I looked under the hood & everything appeared to be stock. I told him about this site so maybe he can come in & say hi. He just bought the car 2 months ago..it's a 99....

Probably a SLP H.O. hood on it then.

The 1st gen had the 400 Ram Air HO package (big cam) and the 1967-69 Firebird 350HO which was a 4bbl old blue-block. The HO designation was thrown around a bit in later years also. Not sure whether they used it for the '89 Turbo TA. Later on HO (high output) was mainly used to denote the engine itself, not the car. For example the WS6, TA and Formula are listed as having an HO V8 (LS1) as opposed to say, a Vortech or a Northstar V8.

Hope this helps.

After the drop in compression in 71 (with the Ram Air 400 not being made)the Trans Am's and Formulas had a 455 HO.Then in mid year in 75 the T/A had a 455 from a station wagon with tuned exhausts and a 4-speed called a 455 HO.Then with all the magaazines complaining called it the 455 in 76.

I know about the older f-bodies & the h/o but this was a 1999. That's why it was wierd. The hood was similiar(sp) to the Firehawk stlye.

It was probably the SLP H.O. Hood. Go to Tybrne and look under hoods for Fbodys 98-02. There is a silver one there. Did it look like a WS6 but with only one big nostril on each side instead of the way the stock Ws6 hood which looks like 4 holes in front. I say its the SLP one.

My friend has a really messed up H.O. I swear, he's had it for a couple days and it's been in the shop for both days being fixed!

I don't know how many others there are like it, but my 2002 WS6 Ram Air T/A is an H.O. I bought it brand new in Sept. of '02 and it has the markings right on it, even on the hood. You can see the picture of it at:

I am sure mine cannot be the only one...............

Well I dont think that is a factory sticker. They say Ramair at that point. It may have been a dealer thing. Are you sure its a true WS6 does it have the code in the door jam? I have not seen any on the lots with that sticker on the hood. Weird

Oooohhhhhhh you mean you guys were asking about FACTORY stuff?? Sorry, I couldn't help playing a little bit with this thread after adding those stickers to my car last year. Yes, it is a real Ram Air car, I just was looking for something different to put on it after the hood got scratched up so I saw those and went with them instead.

Besides, The LS1 is a High Output motor compared to most anything GM has given us in the last several decades. :D

No harm intended guys/gals.
