I just finished my install on my 2002 Z28 and tried to close the hood. No go it hits the aftercooler and that is even with the bending the hood in the area the instructions showed it is like I am going to have to cut a section of the hood brace out all together for enough clearance? Not to mention that I installed a BMR K-member and that droped the motor down 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. So I am wondering if anyone else has had an issue with this and also the discharge of the supercharger does not line up perfectly the aftercooler intake port it is resting on the intake and the supercharger is pointing downward about a little too much. What does everyone elses look like? any issues at all? Picture would be appreciated thanks.

You have to cutout and patch with fiberglass a portion of the hood ram on the passengers side. The discharge probably does touch the top of the throttle body, but such alignment issues can be overcome.

You must be talking about an SS hood. I was talking about a factory steel hoos on a Z28. I saw the instructions on the SS hood and also the one where they say to "Relieve the hood in this area with a leather or rubber hammer ETC..." But it would not give me enough clearance with out cuttin the support almost all the way off so I cut the SS hood I had bought but I was trying not to have to do that ETC... To late though it's done. Thanks!

Mine rubs a little bit on my stock T/A hood. has your car been wrecked or anything? The supercharger does point down at the outlet a little but the aftercooler should also have a slight bend upward toward the supercharger at the end. I just bought a new hood and it's going to have to be trimmed alot :(

I just loosened the bolt on the housing and adjusted the outlet of the supercharger to about the sam angle of the aftercooler and is was a lot better. My car has not been wrecked or even painted on for that matter so it is not that. Sorry to hear about your hood.
