Just currious as to what the price differences are, and what the dyno number gains are. I've looked at several diffrent sites and they all say call and I'm at work:help:

I say stay away from both....go for a turbotech T-76 kit....trust me ;) :D

I'm VERY intrested tell me more :drool: How much would a kit like that cost? What kinda numbers would it put down? I always wanted a turboed LS1 but i thought the turbo kits costed some :bling:

Well if you call Procharger they will tell you that they currently hold the record for the the most power gained from there systems. Your going to get some pretty biased answers and both manufactured have there ups and downs but I vote for procharger. Not tham Im biased, plus i like the idea of a air/air intercooler.
I like air/air intercoolers. (ATI)
I like the vortech "cast" brcaket, and spring tensioner. (vortech)
I like the ATI (superdampener) that comes with the vortech kit. (optional with the 8 rib ATI kits) (vortech)
I like running a OEM fan, not some cheap crappy fan that has cooling problems. (ati)
I like blowthrough MAF setups (ATI )
I like a "tuner kit" so you source your own injectors, tuning, and fuel pump (ATI)
.... all that said and done... I currently own, a vortech headunit, and brackets, and the ATI air/air intercoolers, and a overkill fuel system.
I just need to work some design bugs out before i attemp installtion in a few months (still collecting parts)

The ATI ProCharger P-1SC and the D-1SC units are self contained, which means that they have their own oil supply. There are no oil lines to run to the engine, no holes to poke into the oil pan. If damage happened to either the engine or the blower, the self contained system might just save the other component.
The ATI ProCharger mounts lower in the chassis, keeping the center of gravity lower, which will help handling. The engine is also much easier to service with the ATI ProCharger.
The ATI air to air intercoolers are more efficient than air to water intercoolers are, on the streets. Once air to water intercoolers get hot, they stay hot. On my Mustang Chassis Dyno, we see air to water intercooled vehicles getting one good run. After that, they lose horsepower big time.
I installed one on my '99 Z28 at 110,000 miles on my car, engine was, and still is stock. Valvecovers have never been off of the engine. I now have 122,000 miles on the car (and engine) with no problems what so ever. :)

Can you run 7psi on a stock engine, or should you swap out internals?

with proper fuel and tune, yes you can run 7 to 8psi on a stock engine safely.

I installed an ATI ProCharger D-1SC at 7 psi on my '99 Z28 when the untouched original engine had 110,000 miles on it. We added Hooker Headers, Hooker Off Road, Hooker Cat Back, 50lb Holley injectors, 255 litre in tank fuel pump and computer tuning. The car now has 124,000 miles without one single problem. The car still gets great gas mileage, and day to day driving is really fun. Bob :)

That's awesome. More and more we keep hearing about 100k+ mile LS1s getting a power adder with no problems. :2thumbs:
Ohmyneck, my advice is this. Look at the advantages and disadvantages of each setup, like slow listed, and make your decision from there. Either kit will show you awesome gains and will make your car a whole lot more fun to drive, but overall power production, IMO, is the last reason to make a decision.
