The Monaro name existed long before it was reborn with the current model (just like the GTO). Over the years the Monaro was available with a variety of engines (6 & V8). The V8s were Chev 307/327/350 and Holden 253/308. I'm sure the musclecar buffs will notice similarities with some US GM cars of the same era with some of the body styling and wheel designs if you look through the links. ;)
