My friend knows the owner of the compnay and he swears by the stuff. It's a non petroleum additive/ treatment. He demonstrated a bearing brake test with Amsoil and them with amsoil w/Maxilube. The amsoil treated with maxilube had significantly less bearing wear. My car's power steering pump was whining from autocross abuse. We added an ounce to the system. It significantly reduced the amount of whining. It works in engine oil, bearings etc. www.maxilube.com

There used to be additives in oil for EP contact points such as at the flat tappet foot/cam lobe. Due to newer regs to protect emissions equipment, especially cats, they have been reduced and this has led to problems with engines that use flat tappet cams. In fact, old oil with these additives would to better on this type of bearing test than the best newer syths just because of these additives. Maxilube might have moly, ZDDP, or other stuff. They don't say on their site that I could find. A search on bitog came up empty.
I use synth in my 71, but I know I have to add something to protect the cam. I use CD-2 Street Legal Oil Boost cause it's loaded with ZDDP. It's also dirt cheap at $1.99 a bottle at Big Lots. So synth for superior cold flow, hi temp stability, etc., and an EP additive are the best combination IMO.
