151k on original Differential fluid in my 97 camaro.. should i change it?

My 97 camaro v6 beater has 151k miles on it and the differential fluid has never been changed. I was thinking about changing it this weekend.. what weight fluid should i buy for it? I didn't really want to blow the money on gm fluid so i am going to just use something i can buy at walmart or NAPA.. So what weight should i buy?

What kind of differential does the 5 speed v6 camaro have? It is an open or limited slip?

Somone correct me if I'm not recalling correctly, but I believe it could be either 2.73 or 3.23, with or without limited-slip. I think that the ones with the "V6 Performance Package" got the 3.23 with limited slip, plus rear disc brakes and an upgraded exhuast.

Well this one has drum breaks and had regular exhaust.. I cannot remember what gear it has in it but i can look at the door codes and tell that tonight when i get home

V6 Performance package is called the Y87 package

ALL 5 speeds have OPEN REAR 3.23 gearing from 93-02
A4's vary from 3.23 from 93-95 (Open rear), then they split.
The 96-02's have 3.08 open rear, but 3.42 with LSD if they have the Y87 package.

The Y87 package includes:
3.42 gearing for automatics
Rear Disc Brakes
LSD
Factory Dual exhaust
