3.5 pints which is 1.75 quarts

That fluid will be fine. You do not need posi additive for the Torsen.

Yes on the additive, Blackbird. You do not have a Torsen.

Yup, you will have a little left over to put under the competitions rear tires before a race! ;)

Yes, or in my case, to spill it in your garage and be reminded of the pleasant aroma of gear oil every time you open the door :D

that is not correct

If you are Using Royal Purple Max Gear 75w90 or any of the Max Gear products you will not need the additives.

Auburn = Additive required
Torsen = No Additive required.

Redline and Royal Purple Fluids already have friction modifieres in them.

99-up had a torsen standard. An SLP option was the Auburn, so that's something to look for on the SLP modified cars. If you have a normal Formy, TA, or Z28, you have a torsen.

You can add the additive later w/ the upper pipe plug, or possibly by removing the vent.

I never have to worry about that ---the dealer has replenished it 3 times in 30,000 mi.

Ok, so ws6 is not slp parts correct? its just firehawk? also, whats the difference between the two rear ends?

SLP would be SS or Firehawk. WS6 will be the torsen. The difference is the way they function. The torsen uses pressure I think and the auburn uses springs. Supposedly the auburn is supposed to transfer torque better or something but there really isn't a noticable difference I am sure.
