Well This weekend I went out and overfilled my bottle by 1.5 to 2 pounds. I went to put it in the car an hour or so after the fill and the gauge had wrapped back around to the needle stop under zero. Soon as I saw it I cracked the valve and leaked off a pound or so brought it down to the 1200 range. When does the rupture disk blowout? Does it even blow out or does it work like a valve and open and close. I have been using spray for four years almost and have never seen a gauge max out.
I put 11 lbs in my 10lb bottles at times.

I usualy have a few onces more, but never a lot. Im to fucking scared of that shit to blow up. Plus, CARTEK, where I get my bottles filled are very much against over filling... So pritty much I rarely have it overfilled.

I have a filling station at home and my wife overfilled one of my buddies 10# bottles to 12.5#'s while I was out of town.
I know people that have claimed that they got 12#'s in a bottle without using a pump, just kept freezing the bottle and kept the mother bottle warm.
And like ED said the rupture disks are supposed to blow @ 3000 PSI.

I usually get an extra pound or so.
We were driving to the track one night, brand new bottle in the back of my friend's SS. He accidently turned the heater on, after it was on about an hour, the full bottle hit 3000 psi and popped off. I just just about pissed my pants!!!

I put 12.5 and 13 in my 10 all the time. I let the last 2 pound out right before the fill it takes 8 pounds. The I put it a buck with ice for 20 minutes and it goes to 10 easy put back in ice for 15. Bucket tall enough the ice to go to the bottom of valve. After 11.5 I have to pump it to get 13. than I let it sit at room temp all night and I never have a pressure problem.
