Well, I finally got them on. Let me just say that this emblem install is a royal pain in the ass! You don't even know how much it involves until you do it. It took me 45 minutes each to get the old emblems off. Then I had to use a rubbing compound to get the rest off, then polish that, then wash it, then use rubbing alcohol. Then I spent close to an hour on each new badge to bend it just right so it would fit the 4th gen fender contour. Then I had to cut little itty bitty strips of adhesive to go behind each letter. Oh well, it looks good now!

I love the new emblems. It really makes it look kind of unique with them. Plus, I think I'm going to have my hood scoop painted black soon, so that will really improve it.

Looks great. Really gives a touch of class and Heritage. Reminds me of how the Camaro has stayed true to its mission through its History.

Thanks, I might just go ahead and make it a whole stripe that goes back onto the spoiler and rear deck.

Yup, like BlaSSt's on here too. Except I have t-tops, so there won't be that stripe over the top if I do it.

I have the 70-74 stlye and they came with the prongs on the back. Just cut them off and add the emblem tape. I got mine from Classic Camaro, but there are a few others that have them also.

I got them from greenwoodchevy.com. Hell no they don't have stickies; they want to be difficult! :D They are original 1969 parts, so they have 3 prongs on the back that would originally be hammered through the fender. Just chop them off using a Dremel or simply pinching them off with some cutters. Then sand it flat. From there, you have to hammer them out flatter to match the 4th gen fender contour. It has to be PERFECT, otherwise the spots that don't fit right won't be close enough to stick to the car. They are shaped like this ) from the side, so you have to make them more like this: l. It is not as easy as it sounds. That was the hardest thing to do and it reminds you that this is custom work. Then buy some emblem mounting tape and cut individual strips to go behind each letter. This also takes some time. I got in a rush with the 2nd emblem and was excited to put it on, so I accidentally forgot to cut out the center of the tape on the "2" and part of the "8" when I was cutting it to fit.
Once they are on, they look great. Very few people have them, so it is nice to see on your own car.

It needs to be lowered. I'd like to do headers some time though, so I'm not sure.

:yup: They are. I'm guessing one of the previous owners put them on there, but I'm not sure because they were on there when I bought it. I'd like to upgrade to polished/chromed 17" ZR1s or polished 17" Y2K Vette wheels.

I'd like to do some Pacesetters if possible, but I can't just throw $700-$1000 at those right now. :(
What kind of 17s would you have?

I saw a car a while back on the highway that looks just like yourse. It had those same badges, it was red, and it had a really cool taillight setup. It was all black where you normally see "CAMARO" on the back of the car. The Camaro part was lit up and brightened when he slowed down, was definatly very cool. His licence plate said "MY LS1" and I have been trying to find him so that I could figure out what the major pimpness was that was on his taillight setup. This was in Northern VA in the Fairfax Area, I was on my way back to GMU.
Anybody know this guy or what he did to his taillights?
I want to get those emblems for my car but I have a pewter Z so I dont know what it would look like.... Any opinions? I think it would maybe only look good on a red car... Who knows.
Looks great man, sorry to get :topic:

It would look amazing on pewter in my opinion. The touch of chrome and the red on the emblems would be a nice little spruce of color. (Listen to me, I sound like focking Martha Stewart:rolleyes: ) I've seen these emblems on black, white, red, NBM, and silver cars. The red on the emblems doesn't look bad like some people think it does. The retro emblem look doesn't look out of place on the 4th gens either. Thanks for the compliments and let me know if you need help putting them on if you get them.
