I just got a new set of wheels on my truck, so I figured it was time to take some pics. It's pretty damn dirty, and I'll get some cleaner pics up as soon as these clouds go away. And these pics are very large, so 56kers get comfy. :D

Here's the before shot:

And here's what it looks like now:

For anyone who is wondering, those are American Racing 20x8.5 Maxims on 285/50/20 Goodyears.

So far: wheels and.... uh.... that's it. Tires too I guess, but I've got big plans that may or may not pan out. I'm thinking 2/4 drop, UPD intake, true dual exhaust, and a few other appearance things.

I've been lusting over a SS front end too, but I don't even want to know what that would cost.

Just for fun, I decided to photoshop my plans for my truck. The only thing I didn't do was lower it, because an uneven drop (different front and back) is a pain to do unless I put it on a new background. Any input/sugestions are welcome.

I have the same exact truck and same exact rims/tires as you wtfbees, the only difference is i took the side molding off and tinted my windows and i have a billet grille also. When i saw those pictures i was trippin out. I dont have pics of mine on here though.

Don't worry about the pics, you can pretend mine's yours. :D

And what did it take to get the moldings off. I've been thinking about getting rid of mine, but I'm worried about morons opening their doors into my truck (too bad they couldn't save me from what already. )

lots of time a patience
take a blow dryer heat up the molding carefull not to get it to hot or risk ruining your paint and when its hot enough, 9you will know when) start to peel back on the molding also using fishing line at the same time. then use some goo be gone and get what is left off.
you might need to do a little paint prep afterwards to remove any diffrence in color as the sun has not hit under the moldings. but you may not have this problem, being yours is pretty new.

Actually for me it was about a 10 minute job because the newer your truck is the easier it comes off and i took mine off about a week after i got it. I just used a heat gun and slowly pulled on the trim and all the glue and everything came off incredibly easy and i didnt even need to use any goo gone or anything. Just glass cleaner and you couldn't even tell it was ever there. I also took off the little things that say LS which was easy, too. Now i just need to take the CHEVROLET off of the tailgate.

Looks nice. !moldings and a drop would do wonders for that truck. And while you are at it in photoshop, you might as well paint that bumper cap as well. ;)

Nice ride. I like the way they look with a drop. Keep us post on your modding.

Looks good!! One thing I would do is take the side molding off or have it painted blue. It looks out of place being flat black. I like the wheels though. We're an American Racing dealer so I may have to order a set for the Yellow reg. cab we have on the lot.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I think this weekend the moldings and badges are coming off. Does the LS badge come off the same way?

And as for the bumper, I tried to turn it blue, but it looked really fake because it was too flat. But if I find a pic of an SS Silverado from the right angle, I'll throw that on there. :D

I started with the "Chevrolet" and "Silverado" badges on the tail gate. I got them off, but promptly ran out of Goo-Gone. So as soon as I get to the store and buy some more, they'll be coming off.

You can buy some tar and bug remover from your local dealer that works great on that stuff. It's a gm product and not very expensive. Just check your local GM parts dept.

Hope you don't mind. I leveled it out for you and tried to paint the front bumper SS style :) (color might be slightly off, i tried to get it close, i have one without it painted as well if you would like that one)
