This is stock versus stock, no porting. I have a friend that I just helped do a head install on his car the 98 ws6 and a friend with a I think 01 5.3 silverado. The silverado has pretty much ever bolt on that you can buy for the truck and a crappy ass microtuner or something like that. But, he is looking for more. He is looking into a blower but doesnt know if he wants to spend that much cash. I told him about my friend's heads and he said if they are an upgrade then he might think about them with a nice cam. What do you think about that???

For a blower application they will be an upgrade. The larger combustion chambers will lower the compression so he could run more boost. The larger valves in the ls1 heads will help as well. Get a little cleanup done on them before you put them on then get a good blower cam and blower and that truck will be rollin'. What charger was he thinking about going with?? That will make a differance on how much boost he could possibly run.

I really dont know... Maybe a magnacharger... maybe procharger. Dont know until he finds one for a good deal.

Well, hey I know exactly who you are I think... You used to live in Starkville a year or so ago?? I am at school in Starkville. I think I met you at some point in time at the Dawg Wash on Stark Road. You used to race a bit up there too?? Awesome truck though... You also introduced me to Curt I think at another car wash.

I saw where you added you sig to the first post. Looks like you are moding up the WRX pretty good. Think it will beat a pickem' up? ;) :D

Haha, yeh I just realized it too... I looked at the avatar and was like... hang on I know that truck with those wheels... Then I went to your webpage and I was like, ah I see now! Oh, yeah you know him. Chris that was orginally from Vburg and lives in Lake Charles now. He's on the LAtruckscene site also. I think you know him too. Drives a Ext. cab gunmetal Sierra 3/4 drop on 22's, street scene grill and roll pan, painted aftermarket(dont know from whom) valance.

Oh, and about the pickem up... I saw those times!! Thats killer man! Nah but I think I could prolly keep up after I am tuned again. Last time I didnt have enough time at the shop to get a good tune(started from scratch). But she put down 280 to the wheels on winter pump at 16.5psi on a dyno dynamics dyno. So, I would say a conservative 315 320 on a awd 'jet. Not bad for a baby 4 cyl, hehe. Tell you what... let me get tuned and we will run from a roll(on my 3rd rear diff from launches). Hell I dont even have any passes at the strip and I dont street race. Had wheel hop once on the last one and bang... gone. They dont like the 6 speed's granny first gear, haha. Anyways, well do it sometime.;)
