Guys,
I asked this question on ls1.com and didn't really get an answer so I am hoping running it past you guys may have better results.
Recently I bought a 96 Firebird with some high miles on it but in great shape. When I drove it I noticed it had a slight rubbing sound coming from the rerar. Thinking it was nothing more then time to change the rear brakes (Drum) I bought it anyway. Drive it home stopping at the parts store on the way and picked up a set of brakes all around for the car. I pulled the tires and found that all the brakes were brand new.
I returned to the parts store...got two axel bearings and slapped them in last Sunday...
That wasn't it either sound is still there!!!!
Now some people I spoke with said mayneed a rear and other said that these cars have a two peice drive shaft and sometimes the carrier bearing goes bad and all you have to do is replace that.
What do you think? Any one ever have this problem?
