I am due for a new set of tires, and am considering the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712's. Has anyone tried these?

I'm running a stock '02 Z28 with 16's. Just finally burned up the crap tires that came on the car and need to find some reasonable tires that overperform their price tag.

Ask this in the road racing and autocross forum as well. Even though there's not much traffic in there yet, there is some very knowledgeable guys who check it out.

Won't work... he has stock 16s.
I would look into Kumho V700 Victoracers or Yokohama A032R (2 available A032R: A032R-h and A032R-s)

Thanks for all of the replies. I will check out the models suggested.
I guess I should have mentioned that this is my daily driver, and I would like to find a tire that is suitable for both daily driving and autocross with more emphasis on daily driving since my autocross skills need more improvement than my tires do.

Sam Strano recommends starting on a street tire before jumping into rcompound tires- for the price the Kumho mx's will be a great start

Unfortunately, the MX's only come in 205/55 and 225/50 in the 16 inch. Any other recommendations? They seem right in line with what I'm looking for though - under $100 each.

JRHAWK9 - with an avatar like that I feel as though I should take your advice! Is that you?

I've ran Falken's on my last car, and really liked them. For some stupid reason I didn't even think of them since tire rack doesn't carry them anymore.

CHeck with Todd @ Discounttire. HE can probably help u.

I have the Khumos MX's on the rear and Falkens on the front. Excellent setup and sticks like glue for the price.

But they are 17's.
