Hello,
I'm getting a new 346 shortblock because of my consumption issues and will be replacing the cam. I will eventually be going boost 8-10# and wonder what a good cam would be? I will be running without the boost for at least a year. Would it make sense to just get whatver cam I want and then replace it when I get the supercharger?
I am looking for a mild cam with some low end grunt.
Thanks.

stock cam is good for the supercharger..
if i could do it again I'd leave the stock cam in and spend the $$ on a rollbar or something.

Lingenfelter makes the GT2-3, which is a great all around camshaft that works really well with a blower. :)

Do not get any specific NA cam. The lower LSA will bleed off boost. I believe you do not want anything below 114, but I am not sure. Stock is decent for a blower, but with a blower you want to have a longer exhaust duration than intake to help get the exhaust out..

You wanna get a conventional split pattern camshaft with less intake than exhaust like previously mentioned. Also don't go any lower than 114 lobe seperation otherwise you will be bleeding off boost. I have a Comp Cam XE 214/224 .541 .541 @114. It is fairly mild but you can tell that it is cammed still.:)

I think you get the cam you want and then buy the blower cam when you get the blower.
