How much power will the stock rear end hold? Can you put ET streets on with a stock rear and be ok or is it gonna break and who makes the best replacement rear? thanks

It is very strong, at low to moderate power levels you can use ET Streets/drag radials without fear of breaking it and with the addition of the hardened output shafts available out there you can make it virtually bulletproof...there are people going low/mid 9s (up to 900+rwhp) on that rear.
There really is no replacement anyway (not without SERIOUS fabrication), there is no choice so thankfully it is strong.

Where might one find some hardened output shafts? Thanks!

The C5's Getrag rear is at least as strong and stronger than most stock rears available in any car sold.
You shouldn't have any trouble launching with drag radials or ET Streets.
Any of our sponsors that sell C5 parts will be able to get you a heavy-duty output shaft.
