Not a bad package and a few items I would change. Skip the Comp 918's. With that cam, I would get the dual valvesprings since the lift is pushing the limits of the Comp 918's at 0.600" lift. If you still wanted the single valvesprings, get the Manley's and these can be had for $178 including the Ti Retainers. The lifters aren't necessary since the stock one's are very good.

This is what I would get:

TSP 231/237 $360
Manley Valvesprings and Ti Retainers $178
Manely Pushrods $95
Gasket Kit $35
Rollmaster Double Row Timing Chain $65
LS6 Oil Pump $130

I would still spend a few extra bucks and get the dual valvesprings from Crane or Comp.

Total - $863 with the sigle valvesprings

Thunder Racing has the kit and it costs $560. This kit includes springs, TI retainers, seats and valve stem seals. The Kit is 63-26921-KIT and is good for 0.650" lift.

Yes, they will fit without modification.

like blacker said, i'd spring (no pun intended) for some dual spings with that cam. i know alot of guys running the 918's with the tsp231 but thats too close for comfort to me. i think the crane duals are the best bet for dual springs now; under 400 for the whole kit and can handle .650 . i dont see the point of spending 150 bucks more for the 921's. the PP duals are also very economical and tsp sells them for about 300 for a whole kit. gomer has been running the tsp231 and PP duals for 5k miles now w/o problem.

the comp R lifters are also uneccessary, especially for a cam swap. if your going to swap lifters wait until you swap in some heads. and even then i'd just go with the comps 850 oem lifters. there like 200 bucks.

if you still want the R's you'll need new head gaskets and bolts, that'll run another 100 bucks for OEM stuff.

Sally 5.0!

I'd do as Blacker suggested. That's pushing those springs.

Hopefully:xfings: I will be adding my parts starting tonite.
I am going with the PP duals from Tsp for 290.00 with new seats,
tit rets, and valve stem seals. :D

I was gonna say with your stock heads you wouldn't be able to get the full benefit of that cam. Definitely should get some heads to go with it!:D

theres nothing wrong with the tsp 231 and stock heads. alot of guys are getting 400rwhp with it cam only. the PP 5.3's heads are great but i'd reserve those for the smaller cams. i'd look into some TEA or AS ls6 heads to compliment the 231.
