Does anyone know of any torque converters available for the 4l80e? What stall would be the best for towing 10,000 lbs?

Hughs and Yank both make good converters for the 80. Not sure of the tow ratings though.

Hughes is what I went with....

A 2500 should do you just right!:drive:

Wouldn't you actually want your stall speed LOWER for towing?

Not necessaraly... The increased STR from a higher stall converter could help out with towing, but case size and clutch diameter/material is more of a factor when choosing a converter for a performance upgrade for a truck that still tows. In order to achieve a higher stall/str efficiantly, the case size has to get smaller. This makes the clutch too small to tow a large amount of weight. That is where the multidisk setups as of late come to play. You can however go over board with the stall on a towing application. If it is too high, you may be at stall speed whenever towing while unlocked. This will create a LOT of heat and is really bad, for towing especially.
