Olds anyone??

got a problem im needing some advice on. im hearing too many different stories on olds motors....this is my first one....chevy i know well but olds im a newbie....i wanna run a 455...i wanna be pushin around 450 to 550 horse...im told i cant get that out of a 455 because of smaller water jackets, thing ports...etc....i dont want to bore it and i dont think i'll have to....at least not much more than .30 or .40 cause the block i have needs cleaned up pretty bad....but with all roller valvetrain, the right choice in cam, rods, pistons(domed or not) and head work...this shouldnt be that hard should it??? :feedback:

BTW, the funnest car I've ever driven was a '70 442 W-30 I drove a few years back. Now that was TORQUE :2thumbs:

You should have no problem pushing that much HP. My 455 is blue printed at stock Stage1 spec's, I'm about 370 on the Dyno.

370 Not enough for you??? Your opinion. I like to keep mine close to stock specs.

So are you saying stage ones rolled off the factory with 370rwhp? :shrug:

No. I'm not. The Block was blue printed to Stage1. Everything else is after market. Cam/pistons/heads/intake/headers/Carb etc. But it's 10.5 to 1 compression just like the Stage 1 was.

I've heard the same thing and i gotta check into that....and SStageI....im not knockin ur car man....370rwhp aint bad at all by a long shot but i like overkill.....its just how i am.....my buddies just tell me its a penis extension....i got a little D***, but i got a fast car!!!:bravo:

It's all good. I've learned one thing a long time ago. There's always someone faster. I always thought I had the fastest car. But losing sucks!:mad:

I have thought about pulling the motor and starting over with some crazy project motor. Or just dropping NOS. :)

oh and if ya'll havent heard....as of 4/29/04 Oldsmobile Division of General Motors is no more.....last Olds rolled off the line.....kinda saddened me but hey my car is a little more collectible and a little more valuable now :D
