View Full Version : Gained 45 RWHP w/G5X-3 Cam

On the second graph the red lines are the 8/9/03 RWHP/RWTQ #'s (350.4RWHP/363.8RWTQ true avg.) after the Pro LG LT OR system & the blue lines are the 4/17/04 RWHP/RWTQ #'s (395.2RWHP/373.8RWTQ true avg.)after the G5X-3 cam and Vig2800 install. Please note, the 8/9/03 max torque was not 382 ft-lbs. The 382 RWTQ is a red spike at the very start of the graph. The true dyno# on 8/9/03 was 363.8 RWTQ. So, I only gained 10 RWTQ, however the torque is higher between 4.6K RPMs to 6.0K RPMs, as evident between the red & blue lines. So, I gained 45 RWHP & 10 RWTQ, plus improved torqued from 4.6K to 6.0K RPMs. The minimal torque loss down low (below 4.5K RPMs) is in regard to the Vig2800 install.

Well, I'll settle for a 45RWHP gain. ;)
The G5X-3 is on a 114 LSA. The idle at 900 RPMs has a slight lope but very consistant & never searches or jumps up or down. The lope is noticeable but ever so slight, just like I wanted. BTW, very little shake at idle. Lou & Godspeed, at LGM did an awesome tune.

:rolleyes: Well, considering power is loss through the A4 & TC I have well over 460bhp. You are the first person that seems to think 395.2RWHP/373.8RWTQ is weak for an A4 with factory Heads :confused:

cary have u driven the car enough now to tell me any bad sides of the cam? i am seriously considering the x3 now instead of the x2 due to the serious dyno #'s i saw jeremy was getting :eek:
let me know of any ups or downs if ya could please since i do drive my car quite a bit and want some nice streetability

I have the Pro LG LT Off Road System + Borla Stingers w/Quad Tips & now with the G5X-3 & Vig 2800 converter my C5 is LOUD. It is noticeably louder traveling at a constant speeds lower than 50mph, and at WOT it SCREAMS. I do not know how much the Vig 2800 is to blame for the increase sound at the slower speeds but I suspect it does.
I realize you are not asking about the Vig 2800 but I would like to mention it is not loose & very every day street friendly.
I'm very content with the G5X-3 cam in my C5. The idle, at 950rpms, has a little shake but not a problem. My C5 seems extremely quick & responsive both in the low & high end. However, the low end quickness may be attributed to the Vig 2800.
Still have not gone back to the track with the new set-up. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks for the input. If I do change the emergency brake cover & handle it won't be for a long time. I have not decided, yet.
