No way in hell I believe the Z06 is getting 575hp. 475hp maybe. When you figure the old Z06 was rated only 55hp more than the base vette, no way I believe they are going to have a 175hp difference. Maybe in some low low production "Blue Devil" type car, but regular Z06, NO WAY.;)

BTW.......I don't even believe GM could build a 427ci N/A engine to make 575hp and meet emissions, durability, etc.

Now if its supercharged, that would be different story.:D

While the LS1 is quite impressive, NO :p

The cubic inch to HP ratio on the 427 would be 1.35hp per cubic inch.

This would mean a 346ci LS1 would have to make 467hp and still meet emissions and gas mileage, durability, etc.
Supercharged, Yes.
N/A, NO.

I don't see it happening.

Even if they could make the power, I don't see them making that big a jump between the base vette and the Z06. That much power could scare away alot of potential Z06 buyers. Unless they were going to make another mid range vette to throw in the middle, I don't see it.

with those extra cubes and valves it might be possible.were talking gross #s.


ls1s have known to be very streetable with alot of HP in NA form.

I didn't doubt streetable, but I doubt emissions.

LS1's don't make 1.35hp per cubic inch N/A in stock emission configuration.

Do you know the bore size for the 427?

I know they have trouble making low emissions on Bore sizes over 4.0

This is why almost NO current car makers use an engine with a 4.0 inch bore or bigger.

You can say up and down this site that the Mustang will make 500hp, but you cant think in your wildest imagination that the Vette will get over 500?
ahhhhh :umm: yeah, the Vette is gunna get a lot of power.

and with the whole Holden line going to LS2 Gen IV motors, all GTO's will come with an LS2. How much hp it has is up to GM. I figure around 385, but I belive that the 400 is way underated by at least 20hp, so the 385 is gunna be up to 400.

I still doubt 575hp, without something to fill in the gap.
The mustang is supposed to have cars all along the HP spectrum from 200hp-500hp. Jumping from 400hp for the base C6 to 575hp for the Z06 is large.

We will just have to wait and see AL, no point in arguing this now.

What I dont understand is how you can think that the Z06 wont get that much power if the Mustang could get 500. Do I think that teh Z06 will come to market with 575? No. Could it come? Yeah, anything is possible now at GM with Lutz behind the wheel. He created a 420hp super car for Dodge when the best they had was a K car. The man is a Car God and belongs next to the best that ever made cars awesome. If Hill wants it, and Lutz loves it(which he will), there is a strong possiblity that it could happen.
I think that a 500+hp Corvette is very possible with teh 3v heads and the VVT technology along with increased displacment.
What I dont get is some people will think that the GT motor will end up in the Mustang, but there is no chance that American's sports car, the king Vette wont get a car with equal or more hp.

ZO6 427 should be close to 500hp. And that is old news anyway. The LS2 in the GTO was reported like 4 months ago in HPP.
