Before I write this review I want it to be clear that yes they are expensive and yes, if your stock coils work fine you probably don't need them. I would be happy to answer any questions anyone has about them, but the first person to comment on how they are expensive and not worth it shall be cast into the sea!

Well then, I got a set of 8 of the new MSD multi-spark coild for the ls series engine. Thus fas I am pleased with them. Physically they are larger and heavier than the stock coils, and red. I did not really care for the bright red color in my black enginebay, so I got some spraypaint and made them flat black. In terms of fitment, their larger size made for a tight fit into the coil brackets, but they all got in there. Their size also made the #8 coil contact the heater hose back by the firewall, so I had to adjust the hose and make it a protective sleeve from a slightly larger hose. In terms of performance, I don't really feel any difference power wise, but I did notice that the idle was a little smoother than with the stock coils. For example with my cam I will get the occasional lope feel, where the engine will more a little more than it did on the past couple revolutions, the coils smoothed this and the lope and slight harshness is now gone from the idle. I dont know how much of that is the coils and not just the fact that my stock ones were new in 02, but If they do produce a stronger faster spark that has to be good for efficency.

I particularly like the painted FAST... I am getting ready to do the same thing... to the FAST that is..

Nice job.

Thanks!

I wish I could say the same for my header paint. I have since taken them off and removed the POR-15 and am back to the stainless look.

For the intake I used some high-temp grill paint that was semi-gloss that I got from Advance Auto parts.
