I cant wait for the new camaro to come out, or whatever Chevy is going to give us as an affordable sports coupe.

I'd never buy a vehicle the first year it came out. I'll probably wait until the 4th or 5th year it's been out, research the hell out of it, then impulse buy one. By that time mine will probably be ready to be put out to pasture.

I'd only buy one if it was rwd, a M6 (or better!!!!) 2 doors, V8, got better gas mpg then my ls1, and ran AT LEAST a second faster then my ls1 stock, then I might think about getting one.

My dream car is an '02 Camaro SS in SOM. So I'll get that before any 5th gen SS. Unless the 5th gen completely sweeps me off my feet.

A Z/28 for me......I have a feeling the Z/28 will regain its throne atop the hill....Maybe a special edition like the Z06 is to 'vette.

It's gonna depend on what the 5th gen ends up being. By then, my LS1 will be paid off, so like Blk00z28 said, it better be a full second quicker.

No car payment = more mod money :D

Do you really think it will come back out? I hope it does, but I don't know that it will. And the way the car industry is going, if it did come out, I don't think it would be what it should. Look at the GTO. Pretty good performance, but doesn't have the awe inspiring looks like the old ones. I am honestly afraid of what a new one would look like.

I'm actually saving in hopes it does come back out:p

Mine isn't going anywhere. But my vision is meeting the girls mom that drives the 02 SS. No chicks around here like sports cars.

I guess I'd have to buy an LS1 first.

I am planning to purchase the 2007 Camaro if and when it comes out, as long as its RWD, V8 powered with at least 300 HP and it doesn't look like ass.

I'll never get rid of the LT1.

Depends on what I would give my Z28 up for. If I was giving it up for a C5/C6 then yes I would do it, SS, yes I would do it, 03/04 Cobra, maybe,

I understand it's gonna come back as FWD and with a stripe kit. :firey:

To be fair (and historically accurate), the first GTOs did not have awe-inspiring looks either. Just a big engine in a Tempest body. This new one seems to fit that formula pretty good. It was only after a few years that the GTO grew the hood scoops, stripes, etc. that people remember. Just give GM some time.

Knowing GM, they'll drop the ball in the styling department, so I think I'll be sticking with my rolling door stop for now :)

No car payment = more mod money :D Now that`s a plan! Mine will be paid off by then as well.I don`t think I`d get a 5th gen.My plan is to pay of the 01 SS,then buy another 4th gen SS from `99 - `01.By that time. They will be extremely cheap! Better 1 SS paid off along with a 2000 SS @ almost 1/2 per month less! That`s the plan.Oh,I also plan to sell baby Jonathan ;)

Why should he not be? When the LS1 came out, it was roughly 1 sec faster than the LT1. Why shouldn't a 2008 car be able to do it again?

Being that this car is my first V8 camaro and I love it. I will try to keep it as long as I can:D

I would never sell this car. It will forever be with me as my track car and right now is a weekend car/track car. When the new one would come out i'd already be on the waiting list and it would join the stable.
