View Full Version : Locking Troubles?

I leave my top down for days at a time, parking it in a garage at night..
Tonight, I needed to put the top up, and when I got it all the way up, I pulled down the handle, and it still would not lock!
After 3 minutes of tugging, I reached inside of my loins and summoned my most insane bukkake bear strength, and only then, could I pull down the top far enough to snap one of the locks.. Once I did that, the other was a sinche.
Whats the matter? Can I fix it for free?

you should never leave your top down. Always put the top up after you are done with the car for the day

Why?

Because
1) if there is any dampness on it it will mold folded
2) it wrinkles and loses it shape if left down
3) are you not having a problem? start leaving it up and see if your problem will go away

Temperature sometimes affects the top (contraction). But in texas I doubt that is a problem right now.
The only time I've had a problem with latching the top was when the window seal got pinched by the window. From then on, I always lowered the windows a couple of inches before closing the top.
Good luck.

Well, instead of using my hand to grab the handle, I stick by hand in the top, oppisite of the handle..
You get 300% more leverage, and I can lock it down no problemo..
