i was playin a cd and the damn cd player read error and spit the cd out at me. so i figure, ok, that one's probably a little scratched, no biggie. so i put in another cd, one that's completely clean, and it does the same damn thing.
THEN, after it ejected that one, it started reading error constantly. my damn clock won't even show up in the display anymore, all it says is ERR. and now, even though there's no cd in there, it keeps making the little buzz ejection noise like its trying to spit a cd out at me.
tell me I don't need a new one. please.

Well buddy I do believe you do need a new cd player or you need to get that one fixed. The error message that your getting is probably becase the laser is not able to read the cd. This could be a problem with the laser or the motor that spins the cd. Or the eject motor is not placing the cd on the spindal. I would think it would be the last one. Sorry dude

ditch that P.O.S and buy an alpine 9815. factory head units blow monkey balls. :headbang:

just to let you know there is an alpine head unit for sale in the Texas forum. I saw it and figured you might want to look at it. It's only $100 :headbang:

my monsoon headunit was doing the same thing. but it also wouldn't eject the cd. i unplugged the the headunit, plugged it back in after a minute. the cd popped out. i threw in one of those cd cleaners. and its worked flawlessly for the passed 7 months.
hope this helps
