This is stated on EFIlives weg page:

"EFILive V6 has been certified to operate with the GM LS1 or LS6 powertrain and therefore carries full technical support from EFILive when used to connect to an OBDII, LS1 or LS6 equipped GM vehicle.

While EFILiveV6 may work on other GM, OBDII powertrains, at this time EFILive does not guarantee support for anything other than LS1 or LS6 powertrains"

Even with that statement in place I would think that you should be able to read the PCM but with limited PIDs available  Hold tight for a response on their forum as they normally respond in a reasonable time :)

Thanks for finding that for me..
I just tried it again and I can connect. I validate my PID's and selected the misfire PID's and start recording.. No data is displayed.. Weird thing is I can read my VIN, turn on/off my MIL and High Fan.. Just can't monitor ANY data. I tried to monitor RPM and it wouldn't work...

I'm trying to sell my Grand Prix (http://www.buyanad.com/ViewItem.asp?ID=66740) and now have developed a misfire

I just need to isolate which cylinder has the misfire so I can fix the problem.. Pretty sure it's a coil because I just changed plugs and wires..

I used it on my friend's 2002 GTP :dunno:

I had no issues connecting. Though he was getting KR when apparently he shouldn't have been... (dunno if it was incorrect reading or the truth).

I got it to connect..
Of course I'm sure it's all user error..
I can pick my PID's and monitor them but I cannot record any PID's.. Oh well..

Actually, after driving around with the car a little more it feels like the trans isn't shifting properly.. Hunting for gears.. Banging into 2nd. Thank God for the extended warrenty. I just droped it off at the Pontiac dealer.

Thanks for you help guys..
And who says ls2.com is all Bar-n-Grill :D

Got your message Joe :)

As well as being an LS1 enhanced scan tool, EFILive is also a generic scan tool that should scan ALL GM OBDII vehicles for generic data and trouble codes.

However, some GM vehicles do not support the high-speed logging that the later LS1 PCMs do. So you may need to set the scan mode to Single PID.

TO do that, open the properties window (Alt+Enter) select the [Logging] tab page and uncheck Dynamic Packets.

That will make EFILive log data the same way that AutoTap does.

Be warned though that some PIDs may not mean the same thing on different vehicles. The comment above about the KR appearing when it should not - well there are no guarantees that the {GM.*} PIDs will be the same. {GM.KR} *might* be logging something completely different on a non-LS1 vehicle.

The only PIDs that are guaranteed to work on non-LS1 vehicles are the {SAE.*} PIDs. Those are the PIDs that (by legislation) *must* be supported by all manufactureers on all models in exactly the same way.

Regards
Paul

Thanks Paul.. I did notice that I was logging in Dynamic Packets mode, however, the other two modes where listed as "not available" so I figured that Dynamic Packets was the correct mode.

Could the logging mode (Dynamic Packets) I was using explain why I could not log any data? I was only able to Monitor the PID's I selected (Yellow button). Also, I noticed that in the status bar while in Monitoring mode it said "Paused....." yet I was seeing my PID's change.

No big deal since my car is at the dealer right now.. Just curious I guess.
