Anyone know of some good sites to look at.... I live in a faily small town and auto parts stores dont carry crap for my car...

I have a '00 3800; Also, if someone could recommend a good spark plug, I am going with just basic wires but want a plug that will last and work well

Thanks

None of the auto parts stores have plugs for your car? that's really weird. If your car is stock or only has bolt ons, just use the stock replacement ones. A plug alone isn't going to make a difference unless you have some sort of power adder. If you really can't find any place that carries any plugs (which would be VERY odd), check out Thunder Racing.

there are 3 auto parts stores within a 30 mile radius and all of them can get them but have to "special order the wires" the plugs they have though. Thunderracing has wires but appearently for v6's up to '99 and although I think they would work, I dont want to just assume. And for plugs, I know that stuff like Bosch platinum 4 are crap, but what should I also stay away from? any help or advice would be great

Try 3800performance.com

They are a good vendor.

Just go AC/Delco or equivelent... if plugs and wires cost you more than $25 total then you're wasting money.

I went with the Taylor Spiro-Pro 8 mm plug wires and a set of NGK TR-55 plugs. Noticed a little difference in throttle response, but like the others have said, the gains aren't gonna be huge from plugs, unless you're running nitrous....

one of the problems i notice most is when i'm cruising at about 35mph in third gear and I give it about 80% throttle... the car goes at about 80% throttle for a second then seems as if i lifted my foot off the peddle slightly... hesitates I guess.... will the new wires and plugs solve this problem?

Does it go pop pop pop?

no, there is no pop pop pop noise.... its so hard to explain... if i give 100% throttle (and keep my foot on the floor) at certain rpms the engine responds to 100% throttle for about 1 second then the engine retards and it FEELS like I let off the gas pedal... but my foot would still be planted... It doesnt happen all the time, just at around 2000-2500 rpm's. You know when you give the car a lot of gas, even in lower rpms, the engine gets louder because its working harder. Well when I floor it gets louder for about 1 second and then sounds like i'm only giving it half throttle, eventhough i still have the pedal pushed all the way down.... Its almost like the clutch is slipping then catching immedietly; but it definetly feels like the engine and not the clutch.
