for a street car the BMR lowers about an inch and rides nice-DMS is another choice- for a car that AX's the ProKit seems to be more popular due to the softer rear rate and linear front rate-the Pro Kit lowers about 1.5 inches

G2's are the best if you can get your hands on a set, ride is perfect, cornering is better than most and look is spectacular;)

It depends on what you want out of your car. If your concerned about ride quality and handling the shocks are more important than the springs and most (if not all) of the aftermarket springs are stiffer than the factory ones and the factory shocks won't be able to control them very well. They really don't do a very good job with the factory springs either. Pic the springs you want for ride height and handling and get shocks that will work well with them.

I have Eibach Pros - Love them - the rear does look like it gets dropped more than the front though. Excellent handling.

The eibach's do lower more in the rear than in the front. My fronts went 1 1/2" and the rears a full 2". I wanted a little rake so I made 1/2" spacers to put under my rears (I have info on how to make them if anyone wants it). Couldn't be happer with them now.

I just ordered ground control coil overs for my SS. All of the springs I've ever had have settled unevenly, so I wanted some adjustability and also to choose my spring rate. I ordered 500# springs up front and 150# springs in the rear.

another choice is the suspension technigues springs- they have similar rates to the Eibachs but cost less

I have MAC progressive springs, dropped about 1 1/4", rides pretty good, bit on the soft (very little) side for my liking though. :)

Anyone have some links where I can compare the dms, g2, and hypercoils?

I agree with all that said the hypercoils are a great riding spring! However, I did have to replace them due to scraping my y-pipe driving on the lift where I change my oil (sat too low with ORY). I now run the SLP level 1 kit, which handles just as well, but doesnt lower the car as much... :( Dang longtubes.

I've got G2 springs and like them a lot. Haven't replaced the stock shocks yet.

But they dropped the height more than your desired 1 inch. Probably 1.5 up front and 1.8 in the back. Just reread your original post and saw the 1 inch part...

If you change springs and not the shocks... the handling is gonna suck, mainly because the shocks won't be able to dampen the up&down movement. Having said that, you are better off keeping the stock springs and getting appropriate shocks for them.
If lowering is part of the goals, then you either need to spend more $ or go with other alternatives, such as Koni SA (2 perch locations... which allow lowering of almost 1") while keeping the stock springs.
As for the rear, Bilstein HD can be used and you can also lower the rear, with the hose-mod.
Much cheaper as for meeting your goals, and you'll get better handling.
Changing springs without shocks thinking you get better handling is a

Koni Sa's on front(lower perch) with 1LE springs would be a great setup-or Bilsteins and Ground Control front coilovers with 400-550 springrates and choice of ride height- rear springs in back

any of you have 315's? I'm thinking BMR or Hotchkis because they both claim 1" and I'm really worried about my wide friggin tires!

What are the opinions between those two? Hotchkis is about $40 more if that matters...
