Possible release of AutoX parts

There are reports of GM making available the autox package from GM dealers so that you can customize your GTO. All there is right now is someones info, and I dont know how true that is. There is no report or information backing it up other then what he wrote and some autox pics.

thats the AutoX. It has a 400hp LS6, but if rumors are true, the GTO will get the LS2.

holy cow!!! I love that car. The front end has that "recessed grill", different fascia, rear has dual dual exhaust outlets, and different spoiler, i love it. so, this is just a "show" car, or will this be really available in the future, and the same as it looks here, or are these parts that you can buy from the dealer?????

The autocross version of the 2004 GTO will be what the 2005 GTO will look like, plus hood scoops. The hood scoops will be similiar to the 68-69, a little larger and more towards the front of the hood.

LS2 engine will either be standard, or optional. My sources say standard, as do many other sources. Horsepower will be advertised as 385HP.


For current owners of the GTO you will be able to have your dealers install the LS6 heads and cam without voiding the warranty. These will be available in the Fall of 2004.

thanks guys for answering my questions, I'm a "GTO newbie" and i'm trying to gather as much info as I can. looks like a little "de-tuning" to the LS2, I'm sure that they can "be tuned" back to 400hp. once again, thanks guys.:)

also heard about the LS2 being stock. Holden is going to the LS2, and it would just be counter productive to replace the LS2 with an LS1 or LS6. Id like to see 389hp in the GTO to pay tribute to the 389 poncho that made the GTO famous.

Also, nice to hear about the LS6 heads!! How about LS6 cam while they are at it? :D

Glad to hear the head & cm package will also be availible. Don't really care about changing my exterior just the perfromance

I went for GTO training today with GM. No mention of this package being available at all. They did mention that the GTO would recieve more HP very soon though.
