Found this over on digitalcorvettes.com...
Interesting to say the least.
In case the information has been tainted with trackable "disinformation" I will summarize but must be vague. I do not rule this out as being an intentional leak.
- The "Corvette SS" undeniably a go.
- We are at the very beginning of the program.
- Will be limited #s
- Not indicated to be "blue devil".
- Will be outfitted with a "charged" LS9.
- This will be a Corvette-only motor not to be in a caddy.
- The LS9 is a smaller displacement motor than the LS7. <----
- The "Corvette SS" will be top dog, Z06 will not be.
- Well over 600 HP.
- No test/beta/pilot Corvette SS exists in any shape or form. So don't waste your time looking for one yet.
- Unlike info on some other sites, this Corvette WILL NOT be seen for a very very long time.
I think there are others that know this info, but there are a lot of shaking knees when it comes to even discussing it.
To our GM viewing audience, just want to say thanks for keeping the Corvette line exciting and for continuing to take the car to new levels. Great job. Keep up the good work, we love it.
What year is the new Camaro supposed to debut? Going to be an interesting time in the new horsepower wars if this is true and the Camaro comes back with balls.

Gonna be a LOT of rich, dead bastards out there. 600hp in a car off the showroom floor is gonna really clean the gene pool up. I think the horsepower wars are really starting to get out of line....500hp, ok, fine, you put TM on it so old guys who can't drive won't kill themselves...least, not quite so easily. 600hp is just crazy.

AND...no rich history, rather a short checkered past....retired after only 23 laps in the Sebring 12 hour due to mechanical failure.

It was the BEGINNING. Doesn't matter if it wasn't available to the public, neither was teh Grand Sport Corvette's...didn't stop them from making them though did it?

Still doesn't give them a good reason to name it 'SS'
Gotta be something cooler they can name it.

They already have wore the shit out of the SS name, totally demoralized it with cars as the late model Monte Carlo SS etc.
I like Blue Devil better.

Blue Devil shows some creativity.
Just slapping SS on everything pisses me off.

I for one will throw my .02 in there and say that Corvett SS sounds like ass. Just go with the Corvette Blue Devil. Much mor menacing.

Internal code name for the corvette ss.
One thing list doesn't have is a price, which will be at least 100k.
GM needs HIGH volume cars not another goddamn nitch car.

I read stuff similar to this a few weeks ago. I dont get how there saying its not the same thing as the Blue Devil though when from the specs of it, appears to be.

I think he was refering to the SS sticker job Monte. What a waste.
BTW the classic Impala SS's don't reconize the Tri 9 Impala SS's that dont reconize the FWD Impala SS's.
