What can you tell us about Dave Hill's replacement? (Personally, I thought you'd be the man for the job.)

I hear he is from the Light Truck arena? Should we be worried? :D

well..........first of all, he owns a couple of Camaros........

second.....he races a Camaro in Trans Am series..........

car guy thru and thru.......great guy. While I'm sorry to see Dave go........(and yes, we did argue, but it's because we're both passionate about what we do.....) I'm pleased that Tom is taking over the reins..........good choice for the 4th Chief Engineer of Corvette...........quite an honor.

So the real question is this.

Who is gonna be the next Chief Engineer of the Camaro?

Oh...did I say that outloud.

My votes on Scott.....:kneel: :worship:  :buffer: :woot2:

why Thenk Kew!

......but the only way my name and 'engineer' could be combined is that I have my own Lionel Trains!

Not an engineer, sorry!

(but thanks for the compliment!)

Well, you are the F-body Father and we all know you know a hell of a lot more than us about the new Camaro and you do work for GM.

With that said, we can all just think your Chief of anything Camaro related. :D

Well Bill Gates doesn't have a computer science degree right?

Pity. :(

WAY off the subject...

[shameless plug] Now that GM is starting to tap into the real potential of the diesel engine, why shouldn't they make a diesel SS Silverado? Getting the power will be easier than using a gas motor. By using a lighter 1500 chassis, and pushing the RPM up, while derating the torque and tow capacity, it should be possible to clobber the SRT-10 Ram, while still out towing it, having great mileage, and leave lots of room for expansion. Tuning alone will bring a Duramax 6.6 up past 600HP at the crank, and the motors are surviving well at that power level.[/shameless plug]

Next time you are at an event in our area, it would be an honor to have you drive one of our trucks if you are interested. We just placed 2nd at the Diesel Hot Rod Assoc 2005 Nationals with a 2005 Duramax with a stock engine.

Hey Scott!

You going to this even?? :D

Dear Camaro/Firebird Enthusiast,

On behalf of the men and women at Chevrolet and our 4,300 dealer partners,
I’m pleased to invite you to a very special occasion.

Chevrolet will be unveiling several new models at the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan on Monday, January 8.

As our guest, we would like to invite you to two events that we think will be most memorable.

The first event will be held Sunday Evening, January 8th at the GM Heritage Museum in Sterling Heights, Michigan. You’ll join fellow Camaro/Firebird Enthusiasts for a reception where you will view nearly 200 historic GM cars and trucks while enjoying refreshments. Among the many exhibits are cars
and trucks from the earliest days of General Motors; concept cars from the 50s and 60s; and some very special Camaros and Firebirds that celebrate 35 years of “Performance - American Style!”

On Monday morning, you will be transported to Cobo Hall in Detroit to take part in a very special press event where you'll view several new and exciting Chevrolet products.

How were you selected? Well, for starters, you are a Camaro/Firebird Enthusiast. You’ve “kept the faith” that the future, indeed, looks bright. You’ve continued to support the Camaro/Firebird community.

Because the number of press passes is extremely limited, we have selected your name, along with one guest, lottery-style. Thus, you are one of 250 people from a list of names well over 1,200 strong.

Please review your calendar now. We would appreciate an RSVP by no later than November 10. If you cannot attend, please indicate so that we may select the next name on the list. Please do not give your invitation away as it cannot be transferred to another person. This invitation is for you and one guest. Unfortunately, we cannot offer you a third press pass.

I hope to see you in January!

Hmmm.. I wonder what they could be unveiling??? :woot:

well.........being that I wrote the letter, I guess so!

The problem is that while there's nothing I'd like better than to have about 3 thousand enthusiasts at this event ...notice I did not say Camaro :D ........we could only get 250 press passes for Camaro/Firebird enthusiasts..........so I took every club president......every webmaster/moderater........everyone in my addy book..........(that still owns a Camaro and behaves themselves......no throwing the F**K word...) and then scouring 5 different websites..........I came up with 1,259 names.......did a lottery................

so.......250 people love me.......the rest have contracts out on me.

ill deuce

Well go back to school. Your not that old. Or you don't look that old...lol

I wish I could work for GM. I would give up my government job(sounds crazy) to go and calibrate all their equipment they use for R&D and Testing.

Side note. There better be someone with a damn camera phone taking pictures and emailing them from the phone to someone on LS2 to host them and put them on the board.

I just hope all the hype and waiting haven't elevated the Camaro to levels that no concept can match. I don't wanna be let down.

only expectaion i havve for is to look like an evolution of the forth gen nothing really radical or we can expect retro which if done right we might like it but from what i hear retro is out for the 5th gen

I think a mixture of both would be good. If it is strictly retro (which I wouldn't mind at all) where do you go with the next model? Mix some retro styling with some new styling, and I think you have a hit. Personally I wouldn't write off the total retro thing yet, the retro designs I've seen floating around look 1000 tiems better than any "new" design I've seen.
