I dont understand why they needed 80k units sold. And these numbers are based just on the Firebird. It doesn't even take into consideration the camaro.

Do yall think this is right. That GM only makes about 5% profit on each car after paying employees and everything.

5% is still alot though. and thats jst for one vehicle. and what is that for a specific yr. or all? but u also have to take into effect how many employs they have, any type of repairs needed at any factory,etc...... they net 47 million on one car and if that is jst for one yr. that is a nice chunk of change to net after all their expenses. and to think other models they produce even more of.

considering the size of the plant they were built at i guess GM didnt feel it was enough.
is this really alot of money considering safety upgrades and a probably body style change wouldve been needed?

Well if you take into consideration that this is for only one brand it isn't the complete platform.
The year part is just me doing the math and getting a total for the year for each version. I may be off on the prices too. It is just a rough estimate. The point to it all is that somebodies pockets get lined.
This works with any Company that sells this many units.
What I don't understand is how they say they dont make anything.

I think some of that is dealership profit.
