Too bad, was hoping for the turbo.....

That a Vauxhall version of the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky is in the works is nothing new. What is: We have confirmation of a supercharged high-output engine for the 2007 Vauxhall Lightning as well as Solstice and Sky.

Jon Lauckner, General Motors’ global product planning boss, says the Vauxhall two-seater will come to market with a 2.0-liter supercharged four-cylinder. The engine is expected to produce in excess of 200 hp and peak torque of 200 lb-ft, according to insiders. Look for the boosted engine in Solstice and Sky late next year.

The article is incorrect. One of the insiders over in the 5th gen forum on camaroz28.com said that this is bad info.

I read this today also and it doesn't make any sense. I highly doubt the legitimacy of it.

I hope its not true. GM should do the turbo instead of s/c.

Maybe only the euro vauxhall is getting the s/c.:dunno:

I just(20 mins ago)spoke with an employee over at the Boxwood Rd plant. I asked him when the turbo Solstice was coming out and he said they will be supercharged. :( Maybe he's wrong but that is the plant where they are being made. :shrug:

He can't tell a supercharger from a turbo....:D

I hope you're right. I'd rather see a turbo one, but with GM, anything's possible.
