Interesting. No more LS2, maybe they bumped up the HP for the new Camaro.

Maybe the Z06 will be blown from then on out. . .

I doubt GM would sell three 'vettes.

Frankly I find it very hard to believe the LS7 will be thrown aside that soon, considering the developmental and certification costs and the fact it's only being amortized by use in the Vette would make it a pretty foolish decision cost wise. Methinks the LS7 will have a good run of 5+ years.

sounds like complete BS to me

Sounds very plausible to me. The new Z06 will be the ZR1 of the era and they have already been testing SC's for the "Blue Devil".

It certainly is not plausible/reasonable that GM would after 2 short years throw out the cost of the LS7's development and certification for an entirely new 600 HP motor seeing the LS7's cost is only being amortized over 1 low volume specialty model, unless the LS7 is slated for use elsewhere to help absorb the original costs which I highly doubt.

The costs associated with the LS7 are going to pay plenty of dividends for GM in areas other than the z06. One example is the heads for the new 6.2L truck engine. They are LS7 heads without the CNC work.

Ok...that's a start, there's one area they can reap some benefits, but it still seems out of wack to shit can the LS7 after a 2 year run.

I'd love to see them take the LS7 and just destroke it to somewhere around 6.6 liters for a nice 475 hp motor for a top end Camaro to compete with the GT 500
